We have had lots of fun celebrating and learning about fall!
First, we checked out a fall book and a Halloween book from the library. We have been reading them often!
Lily also played in a fall-themed discovery basket.
It includes beans at the bottom, pumpkins and gourds, leaves (I picked just about every colored leaf in our yard, [maybe there were eight, haha] and bought some too), acorns, and apples.
First she moved the big stuff out of her way.
She didn't pay too much attention to the leaves.
I told her about the colors and textures.
Filling the bottles with acorns
We have a couple of trees in our backyard that drop some kind of nut, and at one point, Lily looked at an acorn, got up and went to get a different nut from under our tree, and brought it back. I was impressed that she connected the two!
Felt jack-o-lanterns!
My friend Nikki came over one afternoon, and we painted pumpkins. Didn't want to leave Lily out!
She painted with orange yogurt!
On a rainy day, Lily loved separating the leaves and acorns.
She also loves playing in water, so I decided to mix water play and pumpkin play!
She loved the splash after throwing the pumpkin in the water!
More separating leaves and acorns
Acorn rattle!
It has definitely been a fun fall season!
