Ice Day!

Recently, much of the south had a snow day, but unfortunately for us, it was more of an ice day here.  The good news is that when you're three and you've never seen snow, you don't know what you're missing!  Lily still thought it was fun to see ice on the cars and ground.  Here are a few pictures:

No mittens, so we used socks  :)

"Hey, where's the snow?!"

Eli is Ten Months Old!

This month, Eli turned 10 months!  He has hit tons of milestones this month!  First, after months of weight checks, his doctor is finally satisfied with his growth.  He is 18 pounds and 26 inches long.  In an effort to gain weight, we added peanut butter, eggs, and yogurt to his diet, and he loves it all!  This month, he started to pull up, and he now goes from crawling (still on his tummy) to sitting very easily.  He has waved a few times, and he started giving those sweet open-mouth kisses too!  He has gotten very vocal; sometimes it sounds like he is saying "hey!"  He doesn't like to be contained in his pack and play or bouncy chair- he wants to crawl all around with no restrictions!  We can't wait to celebrate his first Christmas!

This month, Eli loves:
**pulling up
**feeding himself
**giving kisses
**clapping toys together

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was lots of fun this year!  The Friday before, Lily had a Thanksgiving feast at her school, and we were all able to go with her.  Then, at the beginning of Thanksgiving week, Strother's brother Jonathan and his family came in from Florida, and we spent some good quality time with them.  Lily had a great time playing with her cousins, Julia and Vera, and we spent a super fun day together at the zoo.  On Thanksgiving day, Stro had to work, so the kids and I headed to Baton Rouge to spend the day at my grandparents house.  We had a great week!

Eli is Nine Months Old!!

Eli turned nine months at the beginning of November.  His check up at the doctor was great, even though he still only weighs about 17 pounds!  The doctor suggested starting him on fattier foods like eggs, peanut butter, and yogurt, so we'll be testing those out soon.  He is still army crawling; we think he's so fast that he doesn't feel a need to find another way to get around!  He's been a great sleeper lately; we added a humidifier to his room and it's really helped.  He still loves to watch Lily and play peek a boo with her.  She always wants his high chair right by her when we eat dinner.  She says, "Mama, coot (scoot) Eli by me!"  She also has been helping to feed him lately, and he loves it! I've been making sure to read a book before each nap lately, and as soon as we sit down in the chair, he starts smiling and giggling!

At nine months, Eli loves:
**bath time
**swinging outside
**reading books
**knocking blocks down

He crawled under the bouncer!

So cute!

Fall Fun!

This fall we did so many fun things!  Lily's school has a pumpkin patch, so some days after school, we visited it.  We watched a Charlie Brown movie in her school's parking lot, decorated pumpkins, went to Pumpkin Palooza at her school, and rode the fall train at the mall.

Pumpkin Palooza!  She made a cute shirt and got to sing some fun songs for us.  Actually, she did all the motions but didn't sing.  Still cute!

Lots of fun games to play!

She also had her first pony ride at Destrehan Fest.  She didn't smile the whole time, but said she liked it afterwards.  Ha

With our MOPS group after riding the train and before eating beignets.  Yum!

Each season gets more and more fun as Lily gets older, and I know it'll be the same with Eli!  Looking forward to lots of Christmas fun coming up!
