Lily Goes to School!

Lily started a three-year-old pre-k program at the end of August, and she is loving it!  She goes three mornings a week for three hours.  She is always a little hesitant about walking in, but as soon as her teacher holds our her hand, Lily takes it and goes in.  It's almost like she waits to be invited.  :)  She comes home singing new songs, naming the days of the week, and talking about her friends.  We are so glad to see her spending time with other kids, learning to stand in line and wait her turn, and listening to adults besides us.  And we are also so glad to have a break three mornings a week, while Lily is at school and Eli is napping.  :):):)

Heading to see her classroom and meet her teachers

A little play time, getting used to the room

I love this reading area in her classroom!

Her very own hook and tote bag

Ready for the first day!

Moana everything!  Fave food:  coconuts??  She's never had a coconut, but they are in Moana.  haha

This was on the wall when I went to parent orientation.  So cute!

I especially love seeing her work come home.  She has sorted colors and shapes, painted an apple, and even labeled the parts of an apple.

Tomorrow is school pictures.  We practiced her smile today. Can't wait to see them!

Eli is Seven Months Old!!

In September, Eli turned seven months old!  He is the fastest army crawler ever, and we are now have to pick up Max's food and water dishes when he's on the go!  He will go all the way from his room, down the hall, and into Lily's room.  He has one tooth on the bottom, and I think there's another one coming in.  He was such a trooper and didn't seem to be in too much pain!  He gets so excited when he sees us, kicking his little feet and smiling so big.  He also gets excited when he sees me stirring his food, haha.  He still watches everything Lily does, and he especially loves when she plays peek-a-boo with him!

At seven months old, Eli loves:
**sitting up
**army crawling SO fast
**being outside
**screaming during bathtime

We did his first discovery bin this month.  He had a lot of fun exploring!

Lily's Summer Bucket List

We had so much fun last year with a summer bucket list that I decided to try it again!  It makes it so much easier to decide what to do each day- just check the list!  We didn't complete everything, but we gave it a really great shot!

Zoo

Finding letters in rice, and then matching them on paper

Aquarium

Shape games

Handprint art

Ice cream shop

Splash pad

Read 10 new books through the library's summer reading program

Two new sensory bins:  ice...

...and spaghetti

We made the cutest paper bag puppets!

Enjoying a homemade watermelon popsicle!

One of her favorite activities was painting rocks

She gave one to each family member and friend

We also decorated cupcakes, played I Spy, learned new songs, fed the ducks, jumped in puddles, played hide and seek outside, and set up a bird feeder in our backyard. It was a great summer!!

Lily's Sno Ball Birthday Party!

We decided on a sno ball birthday party for Lily this year- perfect for a hot August day!  Although, once again, we lucked out.  It was supposed to rain but didn't, so it was much cooler outside than a normal August day!  We had tons of sno ball decorations, and a company called Mr. Snowball served them from behind the lemonade stand we used for Lily's first birthday.  We love how it turned out, and Lily loved having all her friends and family in the same place at the same time!

Here are her invitation and decorations!  I made lots of sno balls out of styrofoam, pots for plants, and spray paint!  I also love the sno ball for our door...a perfect decoration to use every summer!

Cookies as favors, always delicious and cute, made by Stro's mom
